If you're new here, welcome! If you're a client of mine, I hope this blog brings you even more information and education for you to incorporate into your own skincare routine and treatments.
I didn't have great skin growing up. I was also susceptible to falling for the 'all natural' approach and I tried a lot of terrible things on my skin at a time when my hormones were changing and a lot of my skin issues probably could have been solved with some simple education on proper facial cleansing, moisturizing, and general care. I read a lot online and educated myself on cleaner ways of living, but I was unable to grasp the full picture at that time. My skin was never bad enough that I considered a dermatologist, and I didn't know there were other professionals intermediate to a derm that could help me and teach me.
This is why education and information is my main focuses. Most of the clients that I see don't need an overhaul of their skincare routine or lifestyle. They just need a professional's guidance to teach them properly. I believe my nursing background has taught me great detective skills and help me understand the big picture and many factors that are impacting your skin.
Coming from someone who has dealt with her fair share of skin complaints, bad skin days, scabs, scars, picking, hormonal acne, wasted money on products and tools, falling for social media trends, and so much more....I hope that anyone coming in to my space feels welcome, feels safe to express their concerns to me, and feels comfortable to ask questions and learn. My goal is for all of my clients to feel confident in their clear, happy, skin and to be empowered consumers of skincare. The transformation that happens when someone feels amazing in their skin is magical to watch. It tends to spill over into other parts of their life and gives them the confidence to be their most radiant self.
I appreciate my clients so much and I thank you for your willingness to try something new. I know it is difficult to open up to and trust a new provider. I hope I can teach you something new and be a part of your skin journey.
Here are a few things about me:
My clients are keeping the dream alive for my Opal and I. She loves her job as Spa Dog.
I opened my business in October of 2022
I have lived in 3 countries. I love traveling and hope to live abroad again.
I have lived in Richmond for 10 years but I am originally from Herndon, VA.
I completed my nursing degree during Covid and obtained my RN license in September of 2021
My other degree is in Kinesiology - I really do love understanding the whole picture! My license related to that is Exercise Physiologist.
Hot Yoga has become my most recent addiction
I'm a plant queen. If you've been to the spa you know. Plumeria is an obsession that has been passed along to me, as well as monsteras.
I have worked in many industries including teaching swimming lessons, pharmacy technician as Westwood Pharmacy, multiple restaurants and bars in the area, I used to sell cinnamon roasted nuts and kettle corn at the Flying Squirrels Stadium. I love Richmond and the connections that all of these jobs have brought me.
My goal with my business is to connect with others and empower them to put their best face forward. My approach is that with simple tweaks and changes that are overall better for your health, we can address skin concerns at many layers. You will not be pressured to work on things you have not brought up to me. You will not be pressured to add things on, to buy my products, or to do more than you tell me you want. I promote products and tools that I personally have researched and believe in, use regularly, and have seen great results from. I do not take my role lightly and work hard to provide you with the best experience that I can. I hope that you leave my spa feeling excited, confident, and having learned something new.
I'm relatable, a little weird, I am on my own skin journey just like you, and I'd like to think I am funny, hah. I hope all of these things make you feel comfortable to open up to me. I would love to meet you and I hope to see you at the spa sometime soon.
